When to hold an alternate count
Alternates are not indecision. They are a disciplined way to stay ready when the market chooses.
An alternate count is useful only when it has its own invalidation and a clear trigger that promotes it to primary. Otherwise it is noise on the page.
In Corrective Pattern Studio we train a two-column habit: primary on the left with price levels that would kill it; alternate on the right with the single event that would elevate it. We never keep more than one active alternate on a timeframe.
The goal is not prediction theater. It is readiness — knowing which labels survive the next swing so you are not rewriting history under pressure.
