Degree labels without the noise
Why naming the degree first reduces false impulse calls — and how we practice it in Foundations.
Most labeling errors start before the first wave is drawn. Traders zoom into a five-candle bounce and call it a Primary impulse because the shape looks familiar. Degree is not decoration — it is the frame that decides which rules apply.
In our Foundations cohort we begin every chart with a single question: what larger structure must this swing belong to? Only then do we count. The habit feels slow at first. Within a few weeks it cuts the number of discarded counts dramatically.
Try this on your next review: write the parent degree at the top of the page before marking (1). If you cannot name it with confidence, step out one timeframe and start again.
